Eduard Bigas : Carving Metropolis

Eduard Bigas was born 1969 in Palafrugell, Spain. He has been drawing constantly since his early childhood. With nineteen he had his first solo exhibition. He lives and works currently in Berlin.

The exhibition presents a cross-section of Eduard Bigas’ work of the last 15 years focussing on his “metropolis”- experiences and reflections generated in cities he lived and worked in: Sydney - New York - London - Berlin.

Eduard Bigas’ artistic method is very much the opposite of going just only soft and gently over paper and canvas. He nearly tattoos the paper with his drawing or scratches the acryl down to the canvas. His lines and compositions are so precise, that they resemble engravings, or stone reliefs but in fantastic colours full of charisma, originality and charm.
